What's New with Coral v11 Software

New Telephones

Tadiran has introduced a new family of digital telephones, called FlexSets, which have improved ergonomics and better looks.  Click here for more information.

New Voicemail, iCMC

The powerful CMC voicemail can now be installed directly into the Coral systems. This eliminates the need for a separate PC, T1 card, separate battery backup, etc. Click here for more information.

CoralView Administrator

This Microsoft Windows based configuration utility offers a graphical user interface which makes it easier for a system administrator to make changes to the Coral configuration. Software wizards automate frequently used tasks and are useful for the novice user as well as for experienced technicians by streamlining complex processes and ensuring that all the necessary information is entered. Reports covering all aspects of the CoralView operation can be generated to improve productivity.

FlexiCall (phase 1)

Simplify your life by using one number for everyone. FlexiCall rings your telephone extension and a remote telephone simultaneously. If answered on a remote telephone, such as a cellular phone, the call can be transferred back to any extension within the Coral system. FlexiCall allows an organization to use its mobile phones as a replacement for wireless extensions within the office!

The functionality for incoming calls is accomplished by directing an incoming call simultaneously to a user's fixed desk phone and to his/her remote phone, while allowing calls to be answered on either piece of equipment. If the call is answered at any of the ringing phones, the other phone will stop ringing immediately. Once the call is answered by the remote phone, the user at any time can transfer the call back to any extension or other number in the Coral. Most likely the user would transfer the call to their desk phone while initially taking the call on their cell phone.

The purpose of the remote phone function is to integrate remote destination phones as part of the Coral FlexiCom system, allowing some features of the Coral FlexiCom system to be available to the remote user.

Every desk phone (SLT, KEYSET,WIRELESS) has the option to define a remote destination for incoming calls.

This feature is available also to a "virtual" phone.

Currently the following Coral FlexiCom features are available to the remote and local destination:

  • Answering incoming calls at either position.
  • Transfer of calls from remote destination to any Coral entity.

If the desk phone answers the incoming call, the remote destination will stop ringing, the outgoing connection is disconnected, and the call will proceed normally within the system.

When the remote destination answers the call, the Coral FlexiCom’s original destination stops ringing. The call is established via trunk to trunk to the remote destination. Once the call is answered from the remote destination it may be transferred to any Coral FlexiCom internal destination by dialing *3 on the cell phone followed by the destination in the system. Once this operation is accomplished, the call will be diverted and the remote destination is cleared.

FlexSet Call Logging

The call log feature allows FlexSet users to view the last 40 incoming and last 40 outgoing calls on the telephone display. The user can scroll through the list of calls and return (or repeat) the call by pressing the "Dial" soft-key. Calls will be displayed by their name and extension or telephone number for external, network, and internal calls. If the caller ID is not available, the call log will show "Unknown Number". Every incoming and outgoing call is registered in the log. If incoming calls are not answered, a message indicating the number of new calls will show on the FlexSet screen, e.g., "10 New Calls". This feature is available when using the FlexSet 120S or the FlexSet 280S with software v2.07 or higher.

VIP Ringing

The telephone that is designated as "VIP", will invoke a special ring mode, to indicate to the recipient that he is receiving a high priority call. This feature can be utilized in applications where you want to indicate something to the user by ringing their extension from a "very important" extension.

Speakerphone Status Indication

The speaker status feature notifies the caller when the other party is using the speakerphone. This gives the caller an indication that others in the room may be listening to the call.

Auto-set Relocation

The Coral FlexiCom portability feature allows FlexSet, DKT, EKT and SLT phones a terminal portability capability, where phones unplugged from their original port and plugged into another port will be able to assume all the original port’s settings including: programmable keys, features and any other capabilities. In other words it assumes a complete phone profile.

Two new types of portability functions are available, the first is temporary (restricted by time) and the second is permanent.

The terminal portability feature allows users or telecom managers to reposition their phones freely without the need for installation and re-wiring. This feature also allows new types of applications such as "Hot Seat" or temporary office assignments. Furthermore, standard user maintenance costs are greatly reduced due to savings in moves and changes.

Security Enhancements

1.) The Coral now inhibits the display of the current password when accessing the password section of the programming interface.

2.) The number of erroneous attempts to login in to the Coral can now be limited.

E911 with CAMA Trunks

Enhanced 911 is now supported natively when using analog CAMA trunks. This feature is important for multiple site networks, schools, large campus environments, etc. E911 provides the capability to send additional information to emergency responders about the location of the caller to ensure a faster response, e.g., "High School room 213".

Handset/Headset Disconnect (HDF)

This feature allows an ACD agent or other user to automatically activate or deactivate a pre-programmed button every time the handset/headset is disconnected. This feature is available when using the FlexSet 120S or the FlexSet 280S with soft-keys.

Headset Only Feature

This feature allows calls to be handled using the headset while the cradle is in the on-hook position (handset is on-hook). Note: When this feature is activated, speakerphone capabilities are disabled.

Silent Monitoring Groups

In previous versions the ability to be monitored was either on or off on a per-phone basis. Likewise, the abilitity for a supervisor to monitor users was either on or off on a per-phone basis. The enhancement in this version allows each phone to be assigned to a group which can only be monitored by the supervisor of that particular group. For example, a service manager can now be given the capability to monitor calls of customer service agents but be denied the capability to monitor sales agents.

IVR ACD

With this feature a call that is waiting to be answered by a call center agent (queuing), could be connected to an external IVR (Interactive Voice Response) system without losing the ACD queue position. The IVR can then direct the call according to the received digits from the caller. In some applications, the IVR might announce the call position in the queue and the estimated time to be answered by the next agent.

DNIS in SMDR

An important feature for call centers, the call accounting records now contain the telephone number a caller has called when using DNIS trunks.  DNIS is Dialed Number Identification Service which allows multiple phone numbers on a single digital trunk.   SMDR is Station Message Detail Recording which is used for call accounting and provides a record of each call including the called number, the calling number, and the duration of the call.
